That’s so true, and I think it undermines reasonable conversations about his actions. Like talking to someone about why they’re rooting for the bad guy in a movie.
The presence or absence of an image depends on user votes. If you feel an image is not useful, click the '...' button and select 'Suggest or Choose an Image' > 'This story does not need an image'
Thanks! No fixed plans for future development - it kind of depends on how much traction it gets. If it gets a lot of interest I might add a 'AI editor' that chooses images and write subtitles (or deletes boring ones which have been written by the article's author). But even if it gets little use besides myself, hosting costs are minimal so it will be around for a while :)
That level of detail needs a few hours of scanning and a few dozen of terrabytes of data, along with processing that data to create a model, and then a rig to power that model. Anything less than that, and the uncanny valley creeps up FAST. There's been work on using scans from an iPhone, but with realistic avatars it's really all or nothing.
Waymo really needs to do an A/B test to demonstrate the safety of their cars: When you order a ridesharing car you randomly get assigned one of their driverless cars or an Uber with a human driver.
After a year see which group has the safest record. Simple.
My doctor was target of bitcoin extortionists. Now her system is so locked down and doesn’t interface with any other system. To transfer information to another system she prints it out and scans it into the new system

When asked if he ever advertised on X:
> Multiple of my portfolio companies have. And I always ask them to check. Without exception, all have said it doesn't give the same returns as other platforms
It doesn't have to be "next to" a hate filled post. Also, it wasn't just ads next to racist/misogynist/etc. posts, it was Elon saying a racist and antisemitic post was "the truth." It was the owner of the whole platform saying that. Good targeting can't fix that.
There's no/minimal targeting by X. Or at least weren't before Musk. It was all advertisers bidding. The granularity was good, but you still needed to figure out the audience and how much to bid yourself.
With large advertisers fleeing, you now get shit because it's cheap for third rate advertisers to bid peanuts for broad audiences their products aren't very relevant for.
