They said they only sold around 5000 of the trucks in the quarter. Was only responding to the stuff about Cybertruck. It seems like a material portion of its sales are to his own other company.
My guess is that he took a meme for normal people ("that would make a good band name") and twisted it into a more nerdy version ("that would make a good domain name").
Lots of nerds go to regular colleges so perhaps he’s saying he’s extra nerdy. (Though I think at this point we’re overanalyzing, the worst thing you can do to any joke.)
Science is the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation, experimentation, and the testing of theories against the evidence obtained.
You don't have to write the method twice. Source generators can only add new code, they cannot take away a method you declared, so it will still be there at runtime when called with non-constant arguments.
Because that's a description of the intended behavior, and I reason about a language as an abstraction that allows one to express an expected behavior ignoring the implementation details.
I know it's not universal: some languages in their infancy lack a formalization and are defined by their reference implentation. But a more theoretical approach has allowed languages like C to strive for years.
Also look at Hedgehog Lisp. The bytecode compiler (runs on a PC) is separate from the interpreter, i.e. there is no REPL. But it means that the interpreter is only about 20KB of code. It's quite practical. It's not Scheme but rather is a functional Lisp (immutable data including AVL trees as the main lookup structure) and it is tail recursive. https://github.com/sbp/hedgehog
Right, but the cars here now have to have some kind of GPS tracker thing built in. And the Jeans are 1% elastacine? so that they fall to bits in the Sun after 6 months. I remember a pair of real denim jeans I picked up in the states that lasted me 10 years.
Quality has gone out of everything in the last 15+ years.
So these items, along with anything marked Smart == Ad platform, or AI == Future Ad platform, are on my 'will not buy on principle' list regardless of need or wants.
Because the stereo doesn't spy on us (hopefully). If it did, I wouldn't buy one, as it's not a necessity, either.
The zipper also doesn't spy on us... yet? When smart zippers become the norm and you can't find jeans with dumb zippers, I'll return to using buttons even if they're a bit annoying to deal with.
Good luck finding a modern car that doesn't have a stereo. And continuing the analogy, good luck finding jeans without a zipper. When the only affordable and available options spy on you, it's simple enough to keep them air gapped from the internet... Electing not to own these devices at all is a much tougher sell.
I have ever seen.
