The famous cat-in-the-middle attack

> I live in Europe

So do I... Europe is quite diverse. My retirement, if there is a society at that point, would be funded by a mix of a private pension fund and a public one (Ireland).

I know. That was tongue-in-cheek sarcasm for the Ponzi government pay-as-you-go pension system in most European countries that's said to collapse in the future unless we import infinity migrants to fund it. I was expecting people would catch onto it being tongue-in-cheek.

> PURRTRAN allocates all variables to an arena called the "Litterbox". The Litterbox must be manually emptied at least once a day by the user, or Hex's cleanliness and love will decrease. The Litterbox can overflow, which will cause Hex to become very displeased and may lead to unexpected program behavior, as Hex will begin storing variables in your source code text buffer instead of the Litterbox until it's cleaned.

I'm cackling like a madman, thank you for this op.

> There is no way to observe Hex's internal state directly. You must infer how he is feeling based on his behavior and the lints he provides. This makes it difficult to diagnose issues with Hex's performance or behavior.

this is deep

I wish there were a way to measure a property of the internal state. The measurement would be probabilistic, of course.

The Venn diagram of {people that are ok with paying taxes} and {people that will own the technology that replaces humans that pay taxes from their income} is probably going to show such a small intersection that... UBI or whatever is the flavor of the month will not be feasible.

Heads will roll at cloudfare. E-commerce customers must be furious.

Impossible not to feel bad for whoever is tasked to cleanup the mess.

Especially around christmas. I was about to buy a pair of Birkenstocks. Nope, site is down. Went on to buy a microphone holder, nope, that site is down as well. :) Sure, I'll still get around to it eventually.

I thought Argentinian politicians were bad... big brother here we go.

Argentinian politicians are definitely worse

half of GDP generated by all software and finance companies (ai and non ai) are artificial moats based in overengineering for the sake of selling something at a higher price than it would be if it was simpler.

For other examples of censorship: try playing "sleeping dogs" in Germany.

In Argentina I've learned from a young age that prices take the elevator, but salaries take the stairs.

It got old really quick having to negotiate with the boss every 6 months.

I feel the call of the valve hammer editor now (ok, that is a 20 year old memory so hopefully this engine has better map making tools)

AFAIK this can use both the new Hammer for Source 2 and its own Unity-like editor. Hammer is one of the few editors with actual level-design tools still maintained, most other engine's editors can't do much more than drop static meshes and prefabs around.
