Very nice! I wonder whether that could be used to get LLMs to annotate pdfs. Say an "agentic" CLI like Claude Code or Gemini-cli reviews a pdf and finds typos, could it use this to annotate the pdf like underlining them in red or something of that sort? That could be nice.
Noteworthily, although Gemini 3 Pro seems to have much benchmark scores than other models across the board (including compared to Claude), it's not the case for coding, where it appears to score essentially the same as the others. I wonder why that is.
So far, IMHO, Claude Code remains significantly better than Gemini CLI. We'll see whether that changes with Gemini 3.
That's because coding is currently the only reliable benchmark where reasoning capabilities transfer to predict capabilities for other professions like law. Coding is the only area where they are shy to release numbers.
All these exam scores are fakeable by gaming those benchmarks.
Gemini performs better if you use it with Claude Code than with Gemini cli. It still has some odd problems with tool calling but a lot of the performance loss is the Gemini cli app itself.
Google is currently constantly laying off people. Everyone who really exceeds has jumped ship, and the people who remain ... are not top of the class anymore.
Not that Google didn't use to have problems shipping useful things. But it's gotten a lot worse.
Honestly, if you didn't struggle financially, it seems to me that you've had a pretty good time and that your perception that you're not accomplished enough in how you used your time is mostly a byproduct of our tendency to always be unsatisfied rather than stemming from your past few years having truly lacked purpose :-)
No, the content felt incredibly outdated and I can’t say I gained any technical knowledge from it. The only skill it really taught me was how to write effective filler content to boost the word count on something.
Yes, you're right, that's a good idea! I just checked the oTranscribe Netlify app and I think it's pretty cool.
However, I agree that it could be improved by having cleaner (transcribed) text. You should be able to integrate my approach pretty easily since srt and vtt output formats maintain the time stamps.
Let me know if there's something I can do to make your life easier. Otherwise, naturally, feel free to fork my repo etc. :-)
