Helping people like you are seems like an amazing start. Maybe try to get a pyramid structure going where you teach people to help other people and then they teach people and then it’s a movement? But at all times a low level of effort so there is no pressure other than just holding up a sign or a marker.

I’ve found the hardest thing is breaking the ice and the sign / marker normalises a low stakes interaction where one participant can walk away at any time

I've thought a lot about this since you wrote it. I do wonder if this could become a pyramid activity.

One problem is that it has to be people who are relatively comfortable talking to strangers, which by definition excludes the main people I'm trying to reach.

That said, I wonder if there's a middle ground. Maybe people like myself, who feel unfulfilled, but don't have too much difficulty talking to strangers, could be the ones who hold the signs. And we could help those people get to the point we're at... it could work.

I think teaching people so that they can teach others is a necessity. I've fond that the most effective meetups are the ones where people have a shared sense of ownership, which includes being welcoming to people who are new. One board game group I am a part of ran for 2 years without an official host for this reason.

100% agree! Teaching others to teach helps broaden their perspective/ world as well. Everyone wins

I can't remember the titles offhand unfortunately. Bear in mind that a lot of details didn't come out until the 1990s due to Soviet censorship. The BBC did a great documentary on Korolev about thirty years ago when some details came out.

Whatever one thinks of the Soviet political system, they did have some great achievements. Some of the ones that people forget include first probe and first automated rover on the Moon, first space station, first probe on Mars, first rover and picture from Mars (albeit scrambled), also first pictures from the surface of another planet (Venus)

NASA tried to claim recently it had the first sound from another planet (Mars) and airborne probe (helicopter). The Soviets had already transmitted audio from Venus in the 1980s and had a balloon there.

So true. Kids and I are slowly working through the Gelfand correspondence course (math) and it's amazing.

Off of the top of my head, a few things to think about as you start / continue this journey:

- find out how the original (only) customer found you and see who else is around - ask for a referral from the original customer - figure out what else you can sell to the original customer

Realistically, it depends on what you mean by "expand". Are you looking to build a venture-fundable business, something that grows into a job replacement for you, or something that helps pay for weekend activities?

Depending on what your aim is the "what do I do next" activities will be drastically different.

I did, thank you! It was hard and long, though. Much harder and longer than I expected it to be. The book ended up being very different from what I initially conceived (for the better, I hope.) I have too much to say to fit it all in one comment, to be honest :)

Not really. I am almost sure that eventually I'll do it, but what I have at this point is more like "dreams" or "ideas", very far from being materialized.

Also, I know that I want to write about something less practical and more fun. Maybe, making music. Writing about fun parts is so much easier
