It's funny how you say the way it used to be was better when people always complained about the OOM killer waiting until the system had entirely ground to a halt before acting, to the point some preferred to run with 0 swap so the system would just immediately go down instead.

Amazing, this is like the bizarro version of what I'd want. Like someone said 'hey, there's this kinda crappy language with a really cool feature, let's not make a great language with that feature, but instead take the crappy language and remove the cool feature which is the only thing keeping it from being trash'. Okay, sure, tagged unions, closures, and hygienic macros are nice; but there are plenty of other languages with the first two and when your syntax is atrocious even the most hygienic macro is going to look like something that crawled out of the sewer at R'lyeh.

Sure, there are some amazing indie games (think of Unrest, for example), but there's also a ton of low effort garbage, and far too many projects which suffer from a lack of time, lack of resources, lack of ambition, or, sadly, lack of care. And, of course, the occasional 'I can't believe anyone at any point during the project thought this was a good idea'.
Oh, Darkened Skye? Funny how it's just a fairly bland fantasy 3rd-person action-adventure game and then you get to spellcasting and it's skittles. Also, when I think of video game advertising, I think Cool Spot.
A 'right' reason for illicitly obtaining a video game would be if the game is unobtainable because of licensing shenanigans. Project Cars 2 has the best single player career mode of any existing circuit racing game and it being unavailable because the licenses to the cars (and maybe also the tracks?) expired is a shame.
In the summer my knees were so wrecked I could barely make it up and down the stairs. My GP first thought it was an inflammation and prescribed something for that, but when I went back after a couple of weeks he said the cartilage may have worn off and prescribed me Flexofytol. It may be placebo effect, but between taking it a bit easier, cycling more, and the flexofytol, my knees are the best they've been since I injured them in the first place.

...What? It's licensed under the GPL, of course you can modify the code if you find it unfit for purpose. If it weren't Free Software you might not have been able to do so as the source code might be kept from you.
