When not counteracted with the correct medication, those suffering from this disease typically lose weight due to their bodies vacating their food more quickly than they can process the nutrients. Add to that the reality that chronic sufferers are so miserably tired of living on the toilet that they simply forego eating as long as possible just to guarantee some measure of bowel relief—you mostly proved my point instead of yours.

If ulcerative colitis causes wasting disease then this will cause anorexia which is another serious medical problem. Should we force these people to eat more and deal with the toilet life (btw that’s a real cute minor form of ulcerative colitis)?
