I am not interested in what interior ministers of other EU countries think is necessary for security. My own interior minister is a disease in itself. Part of that comes with the job, so no judgement here, but this is a dysfunctional situation for EU citizens. I don't think anyone has a mandate to implement anything like this. Worse enough that they forced EU citizens to put biometric data in their pass (in an inherently insecure manner with insecure criteria).
If that is what it takes I would suggest to disengage from Schengen agreements and we have to use our paper passports at border crossings again. This is no policy that could tackle problems with immigration and will of course also be applied to all citizens after a while. How long do we have to suffer these old fools...
