Ask HN: Why are tech people obsessed with anti-fragility?

It seems like technology people are enthralled with the idea of anti-fragility, which is especially ironic given how much fragility is created from their efforts to build systems that gain from disorder.

Is this just observer bias or is there more of a focus on the idea in tech?

I think it's not so much ironic, as cause-and-effect; many tech people are enthralled with the idea of anti-fragility precisely because they see the opposite so much in their own systems. One is most concerned with ideas for weight loss, if one is overweight.

People in general, not just technologists are frightened by lack of control. If they feel things are out of their control, they rush to correct that. In essence they’re fighting entropy, so they typically fail, sometimes catastrophically. Personally I go with the flow. I accept there is chaos in nature, and paradoxically this allows me to see its order too.
