It was a comic in which a pelican and his friends visit a data center.

The way I remember it, the story was that they figure out that by saying the magic word "abracadabra", you can get into a computer. And inside the computer, there are little devils doing all the computations by carrying around handkerchiefs. The handkerchiefs with a knot are the ones and the handkerchiefs without a knot are the zeros.

I remember how I learned binary encoding from this comic book when I was 12 or so. I read it in German at that time. Would be fun to read it again. But so far, I was not able to find it again.
