It just feels like the hyperscalers are doing so well with custom chips. And meanwhile Ampere remains the one and only competitive ARM chip anyone else has access to.
I was going to say Ampere has been shipping the same Altra chip since (late) 2020, but they did kick out an AmpereOne pretty recently. Don't know if the cores are faster, but there's 120->192 now, and ddr5+PCIe 5 is good to see.
Wild to me to see such huge colossal success unreplicated & inaccessible to rest of the world.
