Great timing as developments elsewhere show that baseload is an outdated and unnecessary concept.

The Japanese may not have heard about that as they quote made-up 2012 renewables integration costs in their report, so presumably they're about a decade behind and have no way to access real integration costs from the last ten years.


The only place where baseload is "outdated" is in press-releases of intermittent-renewables lobbyists, whether paid or just enthused.
